Please join me for my Mitzvah Project which will bring together my two passions in life. Basketball and helping people.
On Saturday October 15th, I held a foul shot-a-thon to benefit Philadelphia Youth Basketball. The organization is near and dear to my heart because of its mission to help young people better themselves through the magic of basketball and education. When I was 7 years old I fell in love with the sport of basketball. Almost six years and countless workouts, practices and championships later I felt the need to make this a major part of my Jewish rite of passage in becoming a Bat Mitzvah.
Philadelphia Youth Basketball is such a wonderful organization for so many reasons. Whether it be teaching a young kid how to throw a bounce pass or giving them the skills necessary to acclimate themselves socially and academically, PYB sends the right message for the right reasons. They are currently building a state of the art basketball facility in Philadelphia and I want to be able to say that I had a small part in helping them recognize that goal.
Although my foul shot-a-thon is complete, I am still accepting donations to support Philadelphia Youth Basketball and its transformative mission for holistic youth development.
Please consider joining the movement to help provide Philadelphia's deserving young people with opportunities to grow as students, athletes, and positive leaders.
