Teenie is doing it again!
On January 31st, she will celebrate her 71th year of life by running a full 26 mile marathon at Celebration, Florida to raise funds for Adventist Heritage room in our center. Last time she ran the 26.4 mile in a little over 6 hrs. ranking third in her age group. This year her daughter Rebecca will run with her.
If you would like to participate in the fulfillment of our dream you can sponsor her for $1, $5, $10, $100 or $1000 per mile or make any one time contribution of your choosing.
Why Run a Marathon?
"I have often been asked, Why would you ever want to run a 26.4 mile marathon in your 70’s. There are really three reasons. First, I want to stay in excellent shape to bring glory to God in my body. Second, I desire to be a witness to others on healthful living and thirdly I am raising funds for our new Living Hope School of Evangelism, worship facility and health outreach center." - Teenie Finley
How is Your Living Hope Center Developing?
Our center is proceeding marvelously. The building is up, construction is nearing completion, and we plan to occupy the building in the first quarter of the new year(2016). We have pastors and lay groups already booking dates for evangelistic training classes and we are planning a comprehensive health and spiritual outreach to our communities.
Are there specific Needs that you have that prompted you to run the marathon this time?
Definitely. One of the most exciting facets of this project is our commitment to re-enforce the faith of pastors and lay people in the Biblical foundations and the history of the Advent movement. We are developing an Adventist Heritage room in our center. It will be filled with reminders of Adventist History, reveal major Adventist doctrines and also serve as a quiet place to pray. We need an additional $15,000 to fully equip this room for future generations of pastors and lay people. We are also putting in a complete media center to broadcast our services and record our training events. I am hoping to raise another $10,000 for the Media Center. Any overflow after the initial $25,000 will help us to furnish the building.
We are really excited to see the Living Hope Center of Evangelism, worship facility and health outreach center coming to fruition.
After over 45 years traveling the world, preaching to hundreds of thousands of people we recognize it is now time to place much more emphasis on training and equipping others to effectively carry out the ministry of Christ in their communities. We are committed to dedicating the rest of our lives in sharing what we have learned about effective community outreach and evangelism with as many people as possible.
The living Hope Evangelistic Center will provide us with the opportunity to make a difference for the kingdom of God and help to prepare others to proclaim the message of the “everlasting gospel” so as many as possible can respond and be ready for the soon return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
