Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Academy is proud to announce its 14th Annual schoolwide Race for Education on May 27th & May 28th!
The Race for Education is a longstanding tradition at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Academy and while this year is a bit different than prior years, it is still a great way to get the kids outside and raise money for the school in a fun and healthy way!
Due to circumstances relating to the pandemic, we will not be able to hold the Race for Education in the usual manner. We will be using pedometers to track the number of steps each student takes. Each grade will participate in an alloted 30 minutes block of time and see how many steps each student can make!
In addition, we will not have a school barbecue. Each student will receive a pretzel and Italian Ice. Bottles of water will also be available throughout the day.
Each student will raise funds by asking sponsors- friends, neighbors and family-to donate a (tax deductible) fixed amount. In previous years, we mailed flyers via the U.S. Postal Service. This year to save trees, postage and time, we are once again asking parents to e-mail the flyers to their families and friends. Also new this year, donations may be securely made online. This year students will be able to invite a sponsor through GivingZone.com. Of course, we will gladly accept cash, checks and money orders at the office!
