Friends,
As most of you know, New Heights is a non-profit that I have been involved with since I got to New York City and one I still support now that I am in Philadelphia getting my MBA.
A little background info:
For those who are not familiar, New Heights NYC is an organization that aims to provide NYC student-athletes with opportunities to succeed on and off the court.
Our mission is to educate and empower promising inner-city youth to be leaders, champions, and student-athletes by developing the skills necessary for success in high school, college, and life. New Heights creates opportunities and provides support for promising youth to fulfill their potential in the classroom, on the court, and in the community. Now here's where you can help:
Personally, I work with some amazing students and the amazing staff at New Heights. The kids are the best part of the program - they are kind, smart, hard-working, and respectful. They just need a little help from those who have the capacity.
Thank you to everyone for their Shoot a Thon help last year, and I am hoping you will again this year. I will again be shooting 100 free throws (not really free for you) to raise money for my team. General Managers (aka me) have joined a New Heights team to help them raise the funds needed to provide New Heights’ signature year-round integrated youth-development program College Bound and the 2019 basketball season.
You can show your support by making a one-time donation now or by making a pledge per made free throw (I shoot 100). Most likely, due to my poor skills, I will not make many free throws, so you should probably pledge a lot per made basket!
Thank you for sharing the experience with me. Together we can get buckets and help improve the lives of these amazing students!
All my best,
Jake
