Hello everyone and welcome to my page!
My name is Janelle Linton and I am the Career Assist Coordinator at New Heights Youth, Inc. I am also a proud alumnus of the College Bound program, which integrates education, athletics and leadership development to help student-athletes develop the skills necessary for success in high school, college and life. Cool right?
New Heights has taught me the foundations of life and has been a huge support system throughout my college career and now graduate studies. Over the years I have grown a profound appreciation for the organization and now considers them family. I am extremely excited to be a part of an organization that takes pride in enhancing the athletic skills, education and professionalism of our youth. New Heights has impacted my life greatly and I am happy they have given me the opportunity impact the lives of our youth today. On May 14th, I will be participating in New Heights's 3rd Annual Shoot-a-thon, raising money for the 17 and under girls’ team, to help ensure that they receive high-quality year-round basketball and academic programming.
Here's a little bit about the organization:
• 100% high school graduation rate since 2005
• 98% college matriculation rate since 2005
• 365 New Heights’ student-athletes have been placed in college prep high schools in NYC and throughout the nation
• 271 New Heights’ graduates have matriculated to college
• $51M estimated in total scholarship and financial aid dollars have been awarded to New Heights’ student-athletes
I’ll be shooting 100 free throws and I’m asking for pledges for each made free throw. It can be anything from 10 cents to 10 dollars. So, if you make a 50 cent pledge and I make 60 free throws, you would donate $30 to the team. Every dollar raised goes to benefit our youth.
Please help me raise the funds to support these talented student-athletes!
Much Love,
Janelle Linton
