Friends,
As most of you know, New Heights is a non-profit that I have been involved with since I originally arrived in New York City in 2014, and a cause I have supported from afar as I finished my MBA in Philly.
Now that the MBA is complete, I am ready to get back to being a strong teammate to New Heights and its amazing students.
A little background info:
For those who are not familiar, New Heights NYC is an organization that aims to provide NYC student-athletes with opportunities to succeed on and off the court.
Our mission is to educate and empower promising underprivileged youth to be leaders, champions, and student-athletes by developing the skills necessary for success in high school, college, and life. New Heights creates opportunities and provides support for promising youth to fulfill their potential in the classroom, on the court, and in the community. See links below for more info (donation link at bottom).

This year, I’m participating in New Heights’ 7th Annual Team Challenge 24-Hour Push-Up-A-Thon on Saturday, May 30th. Every spring, the New Heights family joins together for our Team Challenge Shoot-A-Thon, to raise crucial funds for New Heights. But this year, due to COVID-19 we are shifting to a "Push-Up-A-Thon" as we rally together to push through these challenging times.
As we all know, COVID-19 has impacted all aspects of daily life, preventing us from being together in person right now. For our student athletes, basketball and team sports play a crucial role in their lives, and helps them succeed both on and off the courts. With your help, we can ensure that they’re able to continue this through remote learning opportunities.
Now here's where you can help: I'm seeking to raise $1,500 to benefit the 12U Boys Blue Team. You can support me by making a one–time donation OR you can pledge an amount that is contingent on my success attempting 100 push-ups in 10 minutes (so if you pledge $1 a push-up and I make 50 out of the 100 attempts, you would donate $50 etc.). I understand that many of us are struggling in many ways, but any small donation would go a long way to support New Heights during this time. 100% of funds will go toward supporting our COVID-19 Adaptive Program Model, providing New Heights care and summer programming for our kids in this new setting.
I will enlist my brother, Ben, as my pushup auditor so your donation can be given in good faith :)
All my best,
Jake

**UPDATE**
Good news, a total of $128,677 has been pledged to the Team Challenge, but it's not over yet. We now need you to honor your pledge, which turns that amount into actual dollars for New Heights.
New Heights has always been able to count on our incredible supporters for 100% pledge completion. And we know we can count on you once again as we push forward together.
_______
THE TEAM CHALLENGE:
Starting May 30 at 10am, each participant will have 24 hours to complete 100 push-ups. We are asking for sponsors for every completed push-up. You can pledge anything from 10¢ to $10 per push-up. Every dollar is extra special to us right now, we need it now more than ever to keep New Heights in the game.
For Example: You pledge 10¢ per completed push-up and the player completes 50, you would donate $5 (10¢ x 50). If you pledge $1 and the player completes 100 push-ups, you would donate $100 ($1 x 100). PLEDGE or make a one-time DONATION today.
BIG NEWS: We have an anonymous donor who is generously matching every dollar we raise 1-to-1 up to our goal of $50,000!!
Match funds will be added on the final day.
100% of funds will go toward supporting New Heights’ current COVID-19 Adaptive Program Model.
