Last October I began working for New Heights Youth, a sports-based youth development program combining basketball with academic support, social emotional learning and life skills. We engage hundreds of girls and boys each year through basketball and turn their passion for the game into a tool that opens doors to future educational opportunities.
On June 3rd I will be joining the student-athletes on the court for our annual Shoot-A-Thon fundraiser. I joined as a General Manager for the 13U 7th Grade Girls team to help them raise the funds needed to provide New Heights' signature sports-based program College Bound.
I'll be shooting 100 free throws, and I ask that you consider pledging money toward every successful basket I make. You can pledge anything from 10 cents to 10 dollars (or more!) per basket made or make a one-time donation. All proceeds will go toward New Heights’ programs for youth.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Do it for the kids! But, if you’re not motivated by kids, then do it for the sheer joy it will bring to watch me take 100 shots.
